Rappers Dominique Brown And Ramell Campbell Were Found Dead In A Car Shortly After Doing A Radio Interview

Two well-known Detroit rappers were fatally shot in a spray of gunfire on Interstate 94 early Sunday morning, Michigan State Police said after responding to a call.

Early Sunday morning, Mell and Domo were leaving a nightclub when they were ambushed. While traveling on the freeway, police officers determined that multiple shots were fired over a stretch of the freeway leading to where the victim’s vehicle came to rest.

About 30 shots were fired into the car occupied by Dominique Brown and Ramell Campbell, police said. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Hot 107.5 radio personality Kenny Valentino, who had Brown and Campbell in his studio Friday, told WDIV-TV that the two were said to have left a Dearborn club together before they were shot. Friends said they were targeted.

Ramell Campbell, who was also known as “Mell” was an up-and-coming rapper in Detroit. He was a person who was very involved in the Detroit Rap music scene as his Instagram page has almost 47 thousand followers.

On social media, he went by the  username 47entertainment_ where he often posted videos of him performing as well as pictures of himself in the studio.

Dominique leaves behind her two kids.

“She was a great mother and would go above and beyond to take care of her children, so we would like to keep it going,” Raising money to help with the needs near and far of the 2 kids left behind after their mom’s (Domonique Brown) tragic and senseless death. Anything would help.”

Brown’s mother, Bertha Matthews, told WXYZ-TV that she will keep whoever shot her daughter in her prayers.

“You have taken my only daughter away from me and there’s nothing in this world that could bring my daughter back,” Matthews said. “I’m going to keep you in my prayers along with your family because everybody has their day and they will soon get theirs.”
